Does anyone know where you can get a mains charger for the TTN5 BT GPS unit, it requires 5v 1A, I've tried my local Maplins but no joy.

Probably this is of no help to Evilhomer, but on a general note:
The mains charger that comes with iPAQ hx4700 (and probably many other iPAQs?) can be used with the Tomtom BT MkII GPS unit, and the car (cigarette lighter) charger that comes with the Tomtom can be used with the iPAQ. I was pleasently surprised to find out I now have one of each. |

Pedro, Have you used your ipaq charger on the Tomtom BT MkII GPS unit? I asked my supply if this was ok and was told no way could I use this, I would have to buy a proper dedicated mains charger for the Tomtom BT MkII GPS unit. TomTom have not produced a mains charger for the BT Mk11 GPS, iit apparently will be be available soon. |

So whats the one that I linked to earlier then? Supertrader call it a TomTom mains charger - implying that it is a TomTom branded product. |

In the car I reguarly use the TomTom BT car charger to charge my ipaq. So I would guess the same would work in reverse! |

Maxi I'm as totally confused as you are. This is my question and the answer I received.
Question:- One question you could help me with, I have a mains charger for my ipaq which has the same plug as the Bluetooth GPS, will it be OK to charge the GPS with it, same me having to get another charger.
Answer:- Hi, it is not possible to charge the bluetooth receiver off this charger, it may cause serious damage to the receiver and it's battery.
Many Thanks

I think they are just saying that to cover themselves. It'll likely be fine. Mine certainly was.. I've used the mains charger from my ipaq cradle to charge the GPS from day 1 and it's been fine.[/b] |
