I would like to set some POIs without the icon visible but enabled so that I can have audible warnings. Can this be done? I tried deleting the BMP file but TTN5 displayed a red square.

PS lost the link to the 'silent' voice file, anyone know it? _________________ If riding in a plane is flying then riding in a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the feeling

If you disable the relevant POI's and only enable the warning then they will not show on the maps but you will still get the audible and visual warning.
Is that what you want?

If you Disable POI, and only use Warn When Near you will still get the Icon on the Navigation Map but it won't show on the Browse Map. _________________ Richard

If you disable a POI and use warn when near it will not show on either the Navigation Map or the Browse Map until within the warning range when it will become visible together with a flashing red border.

Thanks for the replies but they are not quite what I would like. The ting is I want 2 warnings (at different distances) for each POI (speed camera in particular) & to do this I'm using the genral gatso database for the first warning of 'Warning, Gatso camera ahead' then the speed related database for the second closer warning of 'Warning, Gatso camera ahead, Speed limit is XX miles per hour'. When I do this the non speed icon covers the speed icon. If I set the speed related warning first that may set the speed icon on top of the non spped one. May try that but would still like to warn of POIs with no icon at all. Will try the above to see if they do what I want.
Thanks again. _________________ If riding in a plane is flying then riding in a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the feeling

If you use the same icon for both warnings then the first warning still gets overwritten by the second but since it's the same you can't tell.
Not sure about not showing any icon, I don't think TTN5 uses gamma settings for visibilty otherwise you could use an invisible icon.

Should have mentioned in my post that the icon for the second warning (particuallary with the speed cameras) is different to the to the first (I could use speed related database renamed to make icons match).
But when I want POI warning but no icon display I would have the problem. Might have to accept that it is impossible (now someone WILL prove me wrong). _________________ If riding in a plane is flying then riding in a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the feeling

Why do you want to do it anyway?

It's no major issue really, I can live with the icon being displayed but with the custom POI file I building a one icon does not represent all types of POIs so would rather have none. That's the only reason.
There are bods out there that can get TTN5 to (almost) do handstands (silent voices, customised menus etc.) so though someone may have already done it. Seems not.
Thanks for all the replies folks. _________________ If riding in a plane is flying then riding in a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the feeling

Why not break the file up into the different types and then have the different icons for each then. |
