|
|
I’m at the point of buying a Tom Tom 5 system for my XDA II and was wondering if anybody could advise me which powered cradle (with built in GPS) was the most reliable and the most Tom Tom V5 compatible. As I want a “one stop shop” i.e. as few wires as possible and the ability to move it from one car to another, the ones at the top of my list are Holux CR100, Arkon powered PDA mount and the THINKNavi unit. Anybody have any thoughts as to which one I should go for or, are there any others I should consider?
Many thanks. |

I purchased the arkon powered unit just a few days ago and haven't looked back since for its ease of use and simplicity, i'd give top marks for it! no messy wiring just one for the cigarette lighter socket in your car and the other from the unit to the pda headphone socket ![Smile](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

I have the Arkon Powered mount with the built in GPS receiver. Great bit of kit. The Audio amplifier has plenty of guts.
I use it with Dell Axim X50 with TT5
I have no hesitation in reccommending it. _________________ Axim X50 & TT5, Arkon CM820 powered mount with built in sirf2 gps

Thanks for that Donald, any issues with TT5 at all? Also how do you fix the Arkon in your car? Ideally I would like to use a Brodit fixing but I have no idea of how any of these cradles would fit to it -- hence the THINKNavi unit is on my list as it has a Adhesive Dashboard Mounting plate which I assume I can stick onto the Brodit plate. Does the Arkon have a similar fixing in the box (or as a cost option)?
Thanks |
