Can I copy TomTom card info ?

Hi,

I am a newcomer to this forum and also to TomTom. I have just received TomTom 5 software only with UK maps. It installed perfectly the first time.
The TomTom software was pre-installed on a 128Mb SD card. I would like to copy this information to a larger SD card.

Is this possible, and if so are there any precautions I should take?

If you have a card reader then just use that to copy the contents of the card to a folder on your main pc, then if you purchase a larger card you should be able to copy it back to the new card.

Note: some card readers will not do this correctly for some reason, so if this does happen then you would need to connect your PDA to your main pc via ActiveSync and then put the new card in your PDA and then copy it to the card that way, which may take a long time as ActiveSync is very slow.
