I've upgraded to the latest TT5 on my Axim X5. My problem is with the spoken voice directions. they (or her !) break up badly and it cannot complete a full word at all. When I run a demo of a route I've planned, the voice breaks up, but when i close down the demo half way through a voice command, it suddenly comes out smooth and glitch free.
I've tried deleting all the files and reinstalling but it makes no difference. I did look on TomToms web site for a solution, but couldn't even find the e-mail address to send them a question! (They wouldn't have removed it by any chance ?)
I also found out after they (TomTom) had taken my upgrade fee, that they do not offer support for the Dell Axim X5, I may not have bothered so early if I'd have known that beforehand.
So, so far I am another dissatisfied customer wishing he hadn't bothered !!!
Any one have any ideas on what may be causing my problem ? |

It sounds like you've got the 'Link volume to car speed' set on. This tends (in my experience) to cause the voice to break up on a Dell Axim X5.
Go to Volume Preferences, un-tick the option to link to speed, hopefully that will cure your problem.
I've been using TT5 & Dell Axim X5 for a few weeks now and am happy with it.
Regards,

Many thanks!! That worked. I can't believe the answer was that simple.
