PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help.. (im desperate if you cant tell)
I have a Haicom 204E gps unit and unfortunately, the cable was pulled out of the Gps receiver. Luckily, its in one piece so to speak... I know that you have to put ...
TX in Pin1, RX in Pin2, Vcc in Pin3 and Ground GND in Pin4.
What I *NEED* to know is ... what colour wire is the TX, RX, VCC and GND. There is a RED, YELLOW, ORANGE and BROWN wire, but NOBODY on the internet seems to identify which wires are what... so I cant fix my gps...
PLEASE PLEASE help if you know of a website that might detail this (its not in the manual, just the pin config) or if you can help.
MANY MANY MANY thousands of thankyous for any help. |

Red is plus, brown is actually black and is ground. The other two are RxD and TxD - try it out, it doesn't do any harm if you got these two wrong trying. _________________ Lutz

thanks a lot for your reply, i really appreciate somebody getting back to me....
BUT... you said that brown is actually black...? well, it is ACTUALLY brown, not a dark colour... and by "Red is plus" do you mean that the red cable is Vcc?
If somebody knows for sure the answer, please let me know. Thanks |

From what Lutz has said you need to connect as follows:-
Pin 3 VCC Red
Pin 4 GDN Brown
Pin 1 TX Yellow or Orange
Pin 2 RX Orange or Yellow
All you can do is try it, if you don't get a fix the first time swap the yellow and Orange around and try again. _________________ Graham.
