|
|
Hi all
I have fitted a 512 card to my ttg 300 and down loaded the camera “current database”
And all is work fine, what I would like to do if it is possible is put in different distance warning for different speed cameras say 300yds for a 60 mph zone / 150yds for a 40mph zone and so on.
Would someone please give me an idiot’s guide please, as my ttg is great and I would not like to mess it up now?
Thanks
Ps this site is five star |

No two people use exactly the same settings. It's down to personal preferences.
If you have a look at this thread it will give you a starting point. _________________ Richard

Have you downloaded the "Speed Zoned" files? You need these first, then you get a different PoI category for each speed. Then you can set the different warnings via the "Warn when near" option in Preferences.
Then add the redlight, specs and temp files from the ".ov2 .bmp" folder. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

1) Follow these menus:
Main Menu page 1 / Change Preferences / Forward Arrow (to preferences page 2) / Manage POI / Warn when Near POI
Then:
2) Select a Camera Category (or any other POI) from the list and a screen will appear saying "Warn when closer than:" - Type in a distance, press "Done".
3) Then it will ask you to "Select a warning sound" - Scroll through with left and right arrows and "Test" to hear it or "Select" to use it.
4) Finally it will ask "Warn only if POI is on route?" - Tick box or not as your preference.
(If 'not ticked' it will alert you of cameras that are on nearby roads as well as the road you are on. If 'ticked' it will fail to alert you if the stored position is even slightly away from the road.
4) Repeat from step 1 ("Warn when near POI" menu item) for all the other camera types.
Note: If (and when) you want to alter the distances you have chosen, or the sounds chosen, the list displayed in step 2 will show any categories that already have alerts at the top of the list. Then when you select one, the first screen will ask if you want to "Remove warning?" Select "No" and you will then be taken to the Distance screen in step 2.
It's also explaned fairly well in the "Preferences" section in the on-line manual:

Thanks for that Andy & Sgould
I would like to get this right so this is where I am now,
I have opened and downloaded the ov2 bmp files into my maps of G.B.
Can I now put the “speed zoned” files (which ones inside the folder !) into the maps of GB not forgetting I am already up and running with the cameras!!
Tanks

If you put the speed zoned files into the map folder now you will duplicate the Gatso and Mobile cameras.
Generally, for these two types, you need either the ov2 bmp Gatso and Mobile files or the Speed Zoned Gatso and Mobile files. _________________ Richard

Thanks for that Richard,
Can you please tell me how to remove the ov2 bmp Gatso and Mobile files and replace them with the Speed Zoned Gatso and Mobile files.
Thanks once again

With your TTG connected to the PC, use Windows Explorer to select the Gatso and Mobile .ov2 and .bmp files (4 in total), Right Click and Select Delete.
In the Speed Zoned Folder of the Zip file you have Speed Zoned/Gatso/ov2 bmp files. There are 7 .ov2 and 7 .bmp file. Copy/Paste these to your Map Folder.
Also in the Speed Zoned/Mobile/ov2 bmp files Folder there are 7 .ov2 and 7 .bmp files. Copy/Paste these to your Map Folder.
If you have all the UK cameras, you should have 17 .ov2 and 17 .bmp files. _________________ Richard

Hi,
Have followed instructions as above, checked in my map of GB folder and all seems to be right (mobile 50,mobile 30 ect, ect) but when I try to set the distance warning I cannot tell which is which on the ttg 300.
All other speed zones are showing the speed

When doing the Mobiles, the problem arises because there is no speed related icon. Then you have to count carefully, or press and hold the selection. They will follow the same order of the Gatso's, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and TBA
You could if you want, rename the files to something shorter, but this would need to be done each month for the latest data. _________________ Richard

Hi Richard,
Thanks for that, so if I set them all the same say 1000yrds would it show a speed on the screen (30,40 or whatever the limet was at that point)when the warning sounded !!

No, the Mobile warnings only show the one type of icon, but with different sound warnings.
I wouldn't have the Mobile 30 warning at 1000, for example, because in a built up area it might be going off all the time. _________________ Richard

Richard,
You said I could if I wanted to rename the files to something shorter, would it work if I just removed "pocketgps_uk_" and left the rest, so the file name would read "mobile_40.ov2" and mobile_40 so on, so making mobile_40 the frist word on the POI screen |
