Any ideas why tt5 every now and again tells me that I have no voice prompts installed.? The lovely sexy Jane has obviously left me for someone else!
I can entice her back by reinstalling from the cd - which confirms that the voice file is still there as I'm installing over the top of it.
As I'm taking my ipaq away next week, I don't want the voice file to crash on me.

Buy Sprite backup and create a self-restoring backup file on your memory card, then if anything goes wrong you can do a hard reset and get everything back again in about 2 minutes

next time it happens see if the vif file is gone.
You can also stay on the safe side and copy the dataxx.chk and eng.vif to a different folder, and copy them back should they get lost again. _________________ Lutz

Thanks guys. Followed both suggestions by using the ipaqs backup (I think from memory this may even be Sprite) and as a secondary measure copied the data05.chk file & data05.vif to the backup location.
Couldn't find eng.vif :D |

Just a quick update to say that Jane packed her bags and left again (don't think I have much luck with women :D ). The ipaq backup worked well and I was able to restore the data05.chk file. I also had the vif file in the backup but, didn't need to restore that one. Many thanks again. |
