I know it's only just come out, but does anyone here have an inkling of when we might expect TomTom to offer the upgrade/patches to deal with reported bugs? |

IMO, TomTom have been using European customers as Beta
testers and haven't had the chance to collate all the faults reports
yet. I'm sure that they will be soon releasing the real TT V5. I
wonder how much the working version is going to cost? The bug
fix version is unlikely to be free as so many customers have zero
problems with the current upgrade package. |

What evidence is this based on?
TomTom have never charged for in-version updates before which are downloadable from their web site in the customer support area. |

Surely they cannot charge for this.
The name says it all, they are Bug Fixes not improvements! |

Tomtom deserve credit for releasing regular and FREE updates to all previous versions. Of course they won't charge for 5.1, 5.2 etc.
A bit of patience and less parania required methinks! |

you will see elsewhere on this forum that some users - subject to a nda - are testing 5.1 or whatever it will be called.
This will be a no charge update - BUT new users should be aware this will not provide fixes for the map data.
Hopefully this will be out in a few day / weeks.
Traditionally the .0 version of tomtom navifgator has always been a disaster (or at least xslightly more flakey than the final release of the last version) but they have always worked it out.

I had posted (on 'Bug collection for TTN5') the reply I got from TomTom about when the revision will be issued and their reply was basically they would post it in 'two to three weeks' (that was about a week ago).
Lutz has obviously deleted it on his daily clean-up.
So....keep your eyes on http://www.tomtom.com/support/support.php?ID=3&Language=1&M=1 from next week on. _________________ ______________________________________

As soon as the next update is available we will publish the fact on this site. TomTom have no intention of charging for bug fixes and in-version updates. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Well they still haven't released the update for the USA but I would just assume it have the fixes applied before they release it anyways. I'll just let you guys be the beta testers. TomTom says the Navigator USA 5 will probably be out at the end of July. This will probably coinside with the first upgrade.

I had a reply to a query today, and they said that the bug I reported would be corrected in the next update, which would be available from their web site "within the next two weeks"

I have it on good authority that an update will be released in "Mid-July". |

Thanks guys. Glad to know that the fixes are on their way. I'll get myself ready for downloading one evening soon and, pathetic creature that I am, going straight out to test drive it.
I'll certainly make sure I take in quite a few roundabouts on the journey to see if it keeps up with me again - as in the good old TTN3 days. |

I'll keep my eyes peeled! If I see someone going round and round and round without ever leaving it MUST be you then? !
Seriously, my TT5 keeps up better than 3 ever did. Have you tried it with your POI's switched off? They were causing me a huge performance slowdown. |

Interesting. I purchased Navigator USA 5 2 weeks ago from Expansys.
