i see the oncoursenavigator site is now up for onc5 in the usa. there are so many map options that i'm a little confused. i doubt i'll need europe or canada but whats the difference between usa and seemless usa. it looks like one is divided into regional blocks and the other offers one big usa map. with the custom map cutting offered, should it matter which one you purchase? i'd also like to make sure the numbered highway bug has been fixed before making my purchase. thanks in advance. |

Well, I've got bad news for you. No more custom map cutting...
What's the highway number bug? _________________ Lutz

i read that users had a problem looking up numbered highways in ocn4. some highways would not show up unless you put in an alternate name. ie i95 vs nj turnpike. i'm not sure how extensive the problem was but i figured i'd wait to hear about a fix. nj's highways are mostly numbered so i've been sitting on the fence waiting. there were quite a few posts on the subject on another popular gps site. |

almost forgot... if there is no costom map cutting does the seamless map require a 1gb card and do you have to load the entire map? are there long routing options to navigate across regions? they don't explain the map differences enough on the ocn site. thanks for your help. |

you actually need a 2GB card - the map is 1080 MB.
And yes, I'd say the overall performance is affected by the map size.
You can use smaller chunks (in the 220 MB area) but that's still pretty sluggish. _________________ Lutz
