Ordered TTN5 (and a mount) from them last Tuesday - there's was the only site I could find that had the full retail version of TTN5 available in stock. In fact I was a little bit skeptical whether they really had it or not because everyone else was sold-out.
They promised a 4 day delivery and it turned up that Thursday.
Only downside was that I couldn't find the free Speed Camera POI database that they promised. This obviously isn't a problem as it gives me the opportunity to download the (surely far superior) database from this site! (I e-mailed them anyway - its always good to check out the aftersales service)
I'm a happy shopper :D |

And it's more than likely that the 'free safety camera database' is our anyway! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Come to think of it, how would they normally deliver something like this? They cant put it on the supplied SD card because they would have to break the seal. Does it come on a seperate CD does anyone know?
Funnily enough I've just been reading through this forum at some of the comments about PDAMods. There are so many negative comments about PDAMods - although the number of these are probably exaggerated by multiple posts - as well as some dubious positive comments from single posting new members! So glad I hadn't looked before because the company gets extremely bad press, and I probably would have avoided them after reading some of these. I'll reply on this thread whether or not I get a reply - but I must say everything seems OK so far......

I had exactly the same as you - I purchased from nex_gensales who are the same people. They didnt include the software and I received an email zip of the Checkpoint Software and zipped poi's from this site. PDA_MODS and nex_gensales obviously cannot read license and distribution agreements as despite Checkpoint being 'free' there is a specific clause on their website at http://checkpoint.oabsoftware.nl/ that prohibits the distribution that Sanjeev Ashar is doing and I quote
" It is not allowed to any other party than OABsoftware to distribute and/or sell CheckPOInt, neither separate, nor packaged, nor in any other way! "
He is directly violating this agreement. Therefore Maxi check what he has sent to you because if its anything like what he sent to me then its a pirate of some description. |

I never actually opened the file they sent me, I used the database from this site instead. PDAMods reply to me looks like it was just a copy of an e-mail from Tomtom support with a speed camera database attachment, and a promise of monthly updates.

Like I say, I never opened the attachment but there was no mention of CheckPOInt on the e-mail. It does beg the question if what you put is true - "what about the CheckPOInt that PocketGPSWorld is distributing?". I'm not trying to defend PDAMods or any of the other businesses that this Sanjeev Ashar is running but they receive alot of adverse comments on this Forum and I'm just pointing out that, in my case (and I'm sure in a few others), they actually came up with the goods that many other retailers did not have in stock, and that I was happy with the service. |
