A great idea. But just imagine what would happen each time you made a wrong turn? Your Pocket PC would utter one word!
Doh!

I like the Homer idea. Teletype has 2 options, recorded wav files (several languages supplied) which give the normal "turn left, turn right" etc, and then a "synthesized" voice which includes more detail such as road names etc. |

Can you imagine it ? Homer says "Hey, take the turn ....mmmmm donuts". Or when it needs to re-route "Ooooh, look a junction..... DOH!". |

You can open the voice files (WAV) on the PC in Sound Recorder and increase their volume, but most Pocket PC's find the volume very loud when in-car. If you have a bad speaker, you can always route it through an FM modulator and broadcast it over the FM band to your car stereo. |

There is a "loud" option if you fire up the TTNav2 setup program and select the change voice prompt option. |
