Hi all new to forum
Can anyone help please
just got an ipaq hx2100 put on tom tom three sat nav
usining a globalsat 338 bluetooth
tom tom 3 gps will not rcognise that the bluetooth is using com 8
in any of the configiration setup for its gps
unistalled tom tom and used the gps info software supplied by globalsat
to talk to the gps fine picks up clear signals
reinstalled tom tom 3 but same problem came back
com 8 not now showing in choices and was now not avaiable in the gps info setup
so i just unistalled tom tom own gps software and back came com8 in the globsat gps info software
for some reason tom tom 3 gps part of the program is disabling com8
i think there is a bug in the software on tomm tom3 regarding globalsat bluetooth 338 recognition
if anyone has an ansewer how to solve this please LMK
cheers

Hi,
Download GPS 2.07 from the downloads section on this site - this will allow you to select port 8 and therefore get it working.

Hi thanks for reply
tried it still the same no option to select com 8
com 7 5 & 9 now became available
reading through the forum it looks like tom tom gps software
not keeping up with drivers for the new gps hardware hitting the market
it work fine on globsats own gps testing software
ive read that tom tom 5 has the option to connect to other devices in the gps configuration so will try that
last chance option i think
pity i cant change com port assigned in pda bluetooth that would solve the problem i think
thanks |

I'm running TT3 with a BT338 and it works fine. They only problem is I can't remember what I did to set it up. I've got a PPC ROM upgrade to do at the weekend, I'll check it out then.
