No misreading on my part. If you re-read the quote in my previous post you will see that you replied to someone using an upgrade, and yes, again, the word upgrade is in bold, so it's clear that's what JNeail is using.

I have an iPAQ 2210, which has two storage card slots. I find the most convenient way to have access to TT5 or TT3 at any time, without access to my PC, is to have
SD card: TT5 maps, Zip and Schemes folder, empty TomTom folder, plus Sprite backup of TT5 installation
CF card: TT3 maps, UK Postcodes, Sprite backup of TT3 and Checkpoint installation
Then, if I want to change from one to the other, perform a hard reset, use File Explorer to navigate to the appropriate storage card, activate Sprite restore and it's done. Takes about 2 minutes to change from one to the other

Hi, I didn't understand the CabInst thing either.
CabInst is a little utility that lets you chose exactly where a cab file's contents are installed to, and, optionally, if you want to keep the cab file after the install.
I keep the cab files of important apps on my SD card so if for any reason my sprite backup won't restore, or, if I think my backup has the problem config backed up within it, I can hard reset and install TTN or whatever else I need from the SD card. With TTN 3, I install the app and GPS drivers from cab files but leave the voice files in situ on the SD card and have a little word doc with the registry entries for the voice files to add back as soon as TTN has created the rest of the required registry keys.
