|
|
I am pulling my hair out. I have Tom Tom 5 running on my Fujitsu Siemens Loox 720 and a Globalsat BT-338 GPS receiver. Eventually, after much work, I managed to get the "TomTom GPS" application to recognise the BT-338 by configuring it to "Sirf Bluetooth" on "Bluetooth Serial Port COM6:". So now I'm getting positional data coming up on screen. However, when I run TomTom 5 and try to configure GPS I am not having any look whatsoever :-(
I've selected "Other Bluetooth GPS" and "Bluetooth Serial Port COM6:". These are the only settings that get the little black and yellow disc rotating in the top right corner of the GPS Status screen and the blue light flashing quickly on the BT-338 so it looks like the GPS receiver is connected but there is no positional data being displayed on the "GPS Status" screen and I'm still getting the "No GPS device!" message and a grey screen in Tom Tom!!
Please can someone help? I've heard rumours that Tom Tom 5 is not compatible with the Loox 720 but I've also heard Loox 720 owners saying they haven't got a problem.
I've tried various tips gleened from other forums including configuring TomTom to "cable NMEA GPS" and also tried a registry hack but the key "BtBrowserEnabled" Dword in question was already set to "0".
Can anyone pleeeeeese help me? |

That is strange do you have any other GPS software installed on the PDA that could be locking the com port? Can you connect via bluetooth manager and pair the GPS?
Ah infact i would backup your data, perform a hard reset and install only tomtom 5, there might be tomtom 3 + 5 blocking each other. _________________ Regards

Yes, I've read that report saying that my PDA is not compatible but there are plenty of posters on Firstloox, the FS forum, that report it works fine so who do you believe? :-)
I've have had Tom Tom 3 installed prior to this version so maybe I will do a hard reset, and try installing TT5 again.
It's just weired how I can get TT5 GPS application to receive data of the receiver but not the TT5 Navigator app itself. Strange. |
