Hi
I'm at desparation stage. I've overcome all the install issues and am now stuck at the "no GPS device" problem. I've gone through the forum posts but do not see my specific problem - but some good solutions for those using Bluetooth (which I've just ordered).
Previously used TT2 (plus postcode software) with no problems. TT5 is installed (at last!), but I get the "No GPS device!" error. I have experimented with GPS Configuration and non-TomTom wired receivers.
I have patiently gone through a number of settings (including restarts) in the garden, with a beer for good luck. Still no joy, though the beer is helping.
The nonly odd thing I see is that in "Programs", TomTom GPS.exe can be seen but it cannot be found. An attempted re-install did not work.
Any ideas, please? |

You seem to have traces of the old installation. I mean, on the Pocket PC. Are you planning to keep TTN2 or do you want to completely move over to TTN5? _________________ Lutz

Ah, I see. I intend to move over to TT5.
Perhaps I should delete everything and start again? I did install TT5 over TT2 - I treated it as an upgrade patch rather than a new installation. |

In your case it may be best to start over. uninstall all TTN2 program modules, especially the GPS driver. (If you can do a hard reset - even better). Then install TTN5 and you should be able to use the tool. _________________ Lutz

Wheyhey! Had to do a hard restart in the end, followed by full install. TTN5 took a little while to figure out where it was, as was I after the beer that was needed to temper frustration. But all working nicely now, thank you very much.
I toasted your health with the last bottle
Will probably be in touch again when the bluetooth thing arrives
.... all assuming I find my way to work tomorrow |
