I have noticed a distinct lack of mini roundabouts in the new TomTom maps,
Should TTN5 maps have mini roundabouts on them?
I think so,
I will be reporting missing roundabouts as map errors to Tele atlas,
What do you think?

I have noticed that there are a number of mini roundabouts missing from the maps. There are a few in there however. I guess it is quite difficult to determine if something is a junction or a mini roundabout without actually going there and having a look. Mini roundabouts tend to get left off OS maps as well from what I have seen.

Also local councils change this with amazing frequency 
It would be hard for any mapping company to keep up.

I read somewhere that roundabouts where the centre is below a certain size are excluded. (I believe I read this on this website in the report on a visit to either TeleAtlas or Navteq).
This would mean that all mini-roundabouts are shown as junctions only.

| They're only considered junctions... It seems that way anyway.. Every one I've been over is either "turn left", "turn right" or *silence* as you go straight over it. |

Yes I remember reading that too. At first I thought that they should be included, but after a bit of thought I would not like them to be included.
Where I live, they (mini roundabouts painted in the road) appear far too regularly, and often disappear just as quickly! Now that I know that they should be ignored I do not have a problem - As we all know, the map data is always out of date (by varying degrees) so with these things appearing and disappearing we could have the situation where they are added to the map data we use, just as the real thing is being painted out! |
