I've got a dog that can sing "Scotland the Brave" whilst pulling a Transit Van along the M6 motorway. It's also Palm and PPC compatible and runs for 6 hours on 1 charge.
Wait by Spaghetti junction and you will see it. . . real soon now...

I had one, but I didn't think it lived up to the hype, so I sold it ;-) |

If you think this is going to turn into one of those threads where people type anything just to get the last word in you're wrong _________________ Everywhere and nowhere

I've reverted back to my Ipaq 3870 for navigation while waiting for a patch but I didn't want to wait the 8 days to be able to reactivate so emailed TomTom who happily gave me another activation code.
Email Conversation is below
Dear Mr XX,
Here is another activation code for you;
Activate product code
Activation of TomTom Map 2005 Western Europe
Activation code: XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX
Product code:XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX
Device code:XXXXX XXXXX
With best regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team

Thankyou for your reply, I am very happy that this is being investigated.
As requested my product code is XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX and device code is XXXXX XXXXX

Dear Mr XX,
Thank you for your mail.
The software is detecting that there is an external keyboard.
This has been passed to our development team for them to investigate, At present we do not have a solution for this.
As soon as we do have a solution it will be posted on our support website.
Please provide both product and device codes and in view of the circumstances that you can not use the keyboard to your satisfaction we can give you another activation code for the 3870.

I have decided to revert back to my IPAQ 3870 for TomTom, however I cannot register the device as it informs me I have already registered the software on another device.
I believe it is unusable on the PDA2K while travelling, what do I need to do to install this software on my old device while I wait for a fix to be available for PDA2K devices.
Customer 24/06/2005 03.44 PM
I today received my TT5 upgrade and took the decision to install it on my new PDA that I use for work as it is included on the compatible list of PDA's on your website here http://www.tomtom.com/support/rightnow.php?Page=http://62.250.17.58/cgi-bin/uk.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3094
This is obviously not the case as when attempting to navigate to an address no screen keyboard is shown, the only way I can enter a destination is to use the slideout keyboard, however you can not enter numbers with this method and it is highly inconvienient to remove the PDA from its cradle each time to enter a new address.
Can you please inform me when this will be fixed, as I need to take the decision whether to roll back to TT3.
regards

I run TT5 on an iPaq 4355 with an integrated "hard" keyboard". After a couple of months use, I pleasantly discovered several hard hotkeys:
M=Menu (Enter/OK will do the same)
P=Preferences
Del=Mute/Sound On/Off
Enter=Select/OK/Enter
!=Navigate to
T=Traffic
I=Zoom In
O=Zoom Out
S=Status
S+G=GPS Status
S+R=Route
H=Turn Map On/Off
C=Toggle Day/Night Colors
Space or Context Menu=Repeat instuction/Adjust Volumn
Tab=Toggle 2D/3D
Thumbpad functions )that I guess work on all PPCs):
Left/Right=Page Back/Page Forward in menus. Some 1st letters in menus select choice.
Center=Select/Enter/OK (Menu if not in one)
Up/Down=ZoomIn/ZoomOut
P+S = Show POI
P+H = Hide POI
M/Enter/select/OK+A = Add Favorite then most Initial letters select the function. Initial letter select also works in "Nav to" Menu
F = Find
G = Center cursor on current position
Z = Zoom to level that shows entire route
C = From Cursor Menu |
