blurredout, try B6 4AA in either of the uk maps.
It should point to St Stephens Street which is due north of where it does point.Paul
Checking B6 4AA in my PAF database puts it in the middle of the square formed by: New Town Row, Phillips Street, Ellington Street & St. Stephens Street at a position of -1.89405 52.49601
PAF's first choice for that postcode is the Royal Mail, Birmingham Mail Centre. St. Stephens Street.
Checking that postcode in 4 different programs on the PC, like UK Postcode Finder, Autoroute 2005 & UK Info Disk all have it in the same location.
If TT5 is putting it due south of this point then the error is with TT
Interestingly TT V3 also finds the correct location. _________________ Graham.

The Uk postcodes actually define a range of numbers in a road. When the road is short then this can include all of the numbers but longer roads are split into sections. You can easily verify this on the Royal Mail website.
The TomTom postcode search completely ignores this fact. It first seems to find the nearest road based on a point on the map, this may or may not be correct. Let's assume it's found the correct road. It then allows you to select from all of the numbers in that road, not just the numbers relating to the postcode you selected earlier.
With only a postcode you should be able to get very close to your destination, now, with a long road, you can be literally miles out.
This postcode facility seems to be a quickly cobbled together add-on just so they can advertise it as full postcode search!!!
