It is possible, but there is a drawback. Since the folder needs to be \TomTom\SDKRegistry this folder gets erased during a restart (soft reset) of the phone. While this is way less frequent than a soft reset on a Pocket PC it still is a nuisance. What I do is keep a copy of the folder structure under \Storage, and then use the Activesync file manager to copy it back into the root. A batch file in the startup folder would probably work too.
The menu can be reached as usual - button 3 for first page, button 6 for second page. _________________ Lutz

And what if you make the folder and/or files in it read-only |

nope. This is a design problem with the smartphone architecture. The root of the phone is actually RAM. A soft reset clears the RAM. _________________ Lutz

I used ActiveSync but the file manager on my Qtek8080e may also be able to do it - haven't tried that yet. _________________ Lutz

Anyone been able to change the menu on a Nokia?
I've got a Nokia 9500 and really want to change the menu structure when the software arrives, (Still waiting for it to be sent - Not happy with TomTom deliveries),

I've got a Nokia 3230 and I would love to be able to change the menu's. In fact having a shortcut key (like press *6) would be excellent.
The main reason is so I can get to the 'exit application' button easily. TomTom eats through the battery power at a frightening rate so need to be able to switch TomTom off quickly when I'm not using it! |
