Just upgraded mine...
Haven't really looked hard for any changes...
But what I have noticed... is that on my classic... the menu systems seems to have become a bit sluggish... anyone else confirm similar symptoms? _________________ .h

Both the original TomTom Go, and the TomTom Go 300/500/700 units have version 5.20 available. Please have a look at the TomTom download page.
TomTom website wrote: | Is this update meant for me?
We recommend this update if the version number of the application on your TomTom GO is lower than version 5.20.
What's new in 5.20?
Several minor improvements. |
As per any upgrade or modification, please ensure that you have a full viable backup of your system and read the instructions very carefully.

Well, I've just been out to test mine after transferring all my data to a 512 SD card and upgrading to 5.2, and all seems fine.
Screen brightness is still good (even in this sunshine) and even better, Jane now tells me to take the SECOND RIGHT now instead of 'in 300 yards, turn right, then turn right' (which if you don't check the map would send you down the wrong road)

I lost my "bing bong, gatso", and "gatso 30" etc, but these were replaced with the original sounds but at my specified distances. Bitmaps remain. |

I'm sure Lutz will have a new version of the data.chg file out shortly.
Last time, he had it out within 24 hrs. |

I've just swapped the files over from my backup of the datachk 'voice' file, so all is back to normal now. |

Hi, I just downloaded 5.2 and also installed Lutz's new data chk file (Thanks Lutz :D and keep up the good work, it's much appreciated) and all is working fine. However I did lose the Splash.bmp file that I created. Just copied it back in, and it worked fine.
Anyone else noticed this?

Yes indeed, thanks to Lutz for such good work, I've also updated voices etc successfully to TTG 300 with no probs.
Having only just taken delivery of a new TTG 300, loaded software from the box, then loaded 5.1, and now loaded 5.2 I am left only to wonder - what does it all do?
The Tomtom home page fobs us off with "its just bit and bobs" - or words to that effect.
Whenever I upload new software I do at least like to know what it is and why! Anyone out there any ideas?
Cheers

Steve J,
I didn't lose the splash screen that I had created.
Out of interest, when you say installed Lutz's "new data chk file", do you mean the one he created for v5.1 that is now working for you with your v5.2, or has he brought one out for v5.2? |

I now have a "voices" folder, I don't remember it being there before.
