Hi, I just posted this question to Tom Tom support. Has anybody experienced this?

I have discovered a major problem since my upgrade from Tom Tom 3 to Tom Tom 5 PPC.
I travelled to Bluewater shopping centre today and after our day was finished, I decided to use Tom Tom to find the nearest ASDA shopping centre. I had a good satellite fix and then clicked on Navigate to POI. After I selected ASDA's, a long list of POI's appeared. At the top of the list was a POI for my local ASDA store 91 miles away at my home address. But the POI said it was just 3 miles away (which it is if I am at my start location). At the end of the list was an ASDA store hundreds of miles away. Basically, from the list provided, there was no way of knowing which was nearest. It's just a list of ASDA's sorted by miles beginning with my home location. It seems that Tom Tom is only calcualting POI's from my start position instead of my actual position.

TT would need to know your current location to be able to give a correct selection. If you had used it at home last, or there was not a sat lock, TT wouldn't know where you were, so chooses your Home Location by default. _________________ Richard

I use Tom Tom a lot and I spent ages making sure.
Maybe there was a glitch. I'll try it again later. |
