No GSV Data

I do not appear to be receiving any GSV data (ie sat signal info) from my 9531 receiver connected to my Dell Axim X3.

I do not seem to be able to change any of the settings of the 9531 useing the Winfast tool (or TomTom Nav 5). It hangs if I change the baud rate (only works on 4800) and if I try and alter the NMEA settings useing the command menu nothing happens with the same data always being received at the same rate, even if I set them all to zero. It would seem to suggest to me that the 9531 is not receiving any command information for some reason.

I have had the device about a week and am begining to wonder if there is a hardware fault. I am trying to get hold of a USB cable in the meantime to test it useing my PC. Any ideas what the problem could be?
