|
|
When I'm driving around my local area I'd like to have POI warnings (cameras) but not have turn-by-turn directions, or the need to "navigate to". Is there a mode I can use to achieve this or something similar basically just to have the TTM 5 left switched on but not on a specified route?

Just set up Tom Tom to warn you when approching the cameras, but at the final stage ensure that only warn on route is unticked. Then you will get warnings without needing to put a route in. |

i know your question has been answered, but if this is of use to you as well,
go into preferences: 66653 and set the display to turn off map at a selected speed. |

My question hasn't been answered really!. For some reason, if I just leave the phone running TTM 5 with no route specified it seems to assume a route like "home" and give me directions (which isn't what I wanted), also with no route specified the GPS fix seems less certain, the map rotates +/- 30 deg and sometimes shows I'm driving in the fields! What am I doing wrong. Will people giving advice please confirm that it works on their phone + gps, rather than just state what they think should work.

i tried this on my system and it just follows whatever road you are driving along it is not so accurate especialy around junctions as it is reacting to where you go instead of telling you where to go
make sure you have cleared the route from then it should not try to direct you
i had no probs with this
the camera alerts still sound as usual
hope this helps

i have ttm5 with 6600, if i put ttm5 on without a route it will show me where i am traveling,
as someone has already said make sure you have no route in memory.
it sounds as if your gps receiver is get a poor signal
check the gps status screen to see the signal your getting
and back to your first question, camera's work whilst i'm driving without having a route planned. |

Your question has been answered. If you untick only warn on route you will get your warnings without having a route planned, i use it everyday and it worls fine. I suggest you check what the other guys are saying. |
