Hi
I recently installed Navigator 5 over Navigator 3 and was getting a problem. When I closed the programme the pda would freeze and I would end up resetting.
So i decided to uninstall and reinstall.
This has helped the freezing problem but now an error comes up when I turn my pda on Cannot execute \windows\ttgpseng.exe.
How do I stop this from happening.
Also I used TTN5 in the car today with my Axim X50v and Globalsat 338 GPS. The battery icon started flashing away after less than 1 hours use of Tomtom. The battery was definately fully charged when I started my journey (but I forgot to bring my charging cable, duh!)
Surely if this only lasts 1 hour on a charge then the whole system will be useless and taking on long walks with me? |

The first issue can be fixed by deleting the offending event from the event database (use check_notifications for that, but VERY CAREFULLY)
the second issue is unrelated. Test if yiur battery holds longer with Bluetooth enabled but TomTom not running (I don't think it will be different). Time for a new battery. _________________ Lutz

The freezing problem is a known problem for VGA devices in TTN2004 AND TTN 5. If you want to regain control of your device, you need to wait for it to unfreeze (can take up to 5 minutes).
I have talked about this issue many times. You can search under my username if you want to see more information (but no fix). |

Can you explain how I do the above.
I also have a problem where my home location and favourites dissappear and I have to re-save them. Is this a common problem with TT5? |

I found this on another post reply from Ibendlin
check_notifications is a utility that allows you to look into the events database and remove items from it.
You can get it from http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/downloads/check_notifications.exe
it's an ARM executable - needs to be copied to the PDA and run there. Be VERY careful not to delete other events.
So download the prog to pc then put it on your PDA run it from there , i had the same prob as you and it sorted it for me :D |

Me too. I'll add this to the bug fix list. _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk) |
