Is anyone else experiencing problems using the 'Navigate to' in their contacts..
I receive a message saying, Found problem analyzing the contacts address. Please verify....
I press Ok, and the contact is displayed, with street city & postcode correct, pressing Ok again generates a 'failed to start error'
I'm now using a non pirated copy... |

The address search function is extremely particular how you write the address. In 99% of all cases you will write it differently than what TomTom expects, leading to these error messages. I would say the feature is even more useless than it was already in TTN3. _________________ Lutz

I don't seem to be getting any contacts integration at all, although the Contacts Navigatioon folder is present, and has files in it. Any advice?
Thanks |

it's not a folder. You go to your Pocket Contacts (no, Pocket Informant etc are not supported) tap and hold a contact and then select "Navigate to" - in the following form you can try your luck at an address that TomTom actually understnds. _________________ Lutz

Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. But the 'Navigate to...' option is not there. (Incidentally, TTN5 has installed perfectly in every other way.)
Are you meant to do some sort of one-off indexing? |

In Contacts, edit the contact and tap the little arrow pointing down to the right of the address. This shows the Contacts address fields, which map onto the TomTom address fields like this in the UK at least:
Street -> Street and Number
City -> City
State
Zip -> Postal code
Country
On the ones I've tried, the data is typically in the wrong fields in Contacts, as Lutz said. Often I have two lines for Street (a building then a street, or a street then a village) which TomTom doesn't like.
Your options are to work through your contacts one by one, editing them into the shape that TomTom wants; or just create POIs in TomTom for the ones you want. I tried it for a bit in TomTom 3 and settled on the latter approach. _________________ Barry Davies

Thanks, Barry, but the problem here is not TTN's failure to comprehend my data; it's the fact that it has not added the navigation option to Contacts at all.
In fact, even as I write this, a box has popped up on the contacts screen, reading:
Notification error
Cannot execute \\.\Notifications\NamedEvents\EventWakeUpTomTom
The mystery deepens... |

Peter, the notification error is unrelated.
Try to reinstall the PIMAddin.CAB _________________ Lutz

Right, I copied the .cab file onto my ipaq, then ran it. It said the application was already installed, and I confirmed that it should re-install. But... no difference afterwards.
I'm on a 3970 running PocketPC 3. To be honest, I can live without this feature, but it's worrying. And am I the only one? |

I have likewise tried all of the above - and no joy - still no option to "navigate to..." - either directly or via tools menu!?!?!
ANy ideas why this may be?

I have 5500 & TTN 5
I was experiencing exactly the same problem, but reading through the forum I came to the conclusion copying and installing the PIMADDIN was the only option.
I copied both the CAB and the ini file to the Navigator directory on my PPC and clicked on the CAB on my PPC ..... Navigate to now works :D |
