Hi sheppy,
Once you've reinstalled everything back onto your PDA, get Sprite Backup and do a backup of your PDA to your storage card.
If you have a problem whilst away from your PC, just restore from the backup on your storage card.

And make sure the Sprite backup software is not in volatile memory. Use a secure file store if your PDA has one, or install it on your storage card.
I made that mistake with my iPAQ 2210, and when disaster struck and I had to do a hard reset, I wiped out Sprite as well and couldn't reinstall my progs until I got home. Fortunately, I still had the Sprite download, so installed it (in the iPAQ file store this time!) and then reinstalled all my other programs from the backup on the storage card

It's OK to have Sprite Backup in volatile memory provided you use the option to create self restoring backups, and save the backups in somewhere non-volatile. _________________ Kam |

:D Hi All
I am getting a bit confused now (being a newbie) I have downloaded sprite backup and installed it on my mitac mio, should i have installed it on the storage card or is it ok to just have it on the mio in (is it volitile memory!) I need to be able to install everything AWAY FORM HOME WITH NO PC should desaster strikeThis is what i have done so far
1 Downlosded Sprite Backup
2 installed on mio 168 into mio memory NOT Storage card
3 made a backup to PC
4 made backup to storage card
Now if i do a hard reset will everything be reinstalled if i backup from storage card
Sorry to be so thick Sheppy |

install Sprite to the PPC
Change the backup options to create a self extracting EXE. you may need to switch to advance mode for this.
Backup to the SD card.
If the ipaq is wiped. restart it and browse to the SD card. then the self extracting backup will restore your PPC.. _________________ Ipaq 3970, Ipaq 2210 X2, Smart ST V1, Tomtom V3+V5, CoPilot V5, AA Navigator, Tomtom Bluetooth GPS, Navman 3450i Jacket, Navman Bluetooth GPS, Holux GM270, Fortuna GPS-PocketXtrack
