Finally got postcodes working thanks to this forum and got on the 1 month "free" PLUS trial (which doesnt seem to offer me anything beyond different map colours - I'd like to see what a replacement voice sounds like; the little intros don't explain if they deliver their instructions any differently to the regular "take the second left" style.) but I've got a question about font size.
On the POI and navigate to screens, it is laughably bad how I can only see the first few letters of the list it presents - For example, I do cinemas and it gives me the town name then, I suppose, the name of the cinema, only the font is so huge all I see is the first 80% of the town name, meaning it's a case of selecting each POI until I come to the right one. Even putting it in landscape mode isnt much better.
Surely there is a way to reduce the font??????????? |

If you select one of the items on the list and hold the stylus down then it will show you the full name. Also while holding the stylus down, you can slide it down the list to read the others, once you have found the one you want then release the stylus.
I know it's not perfect, but it is at least a workaround. |

I've just had a play with it and i see what you mean but I'd rather the program automatically adjusted the address before I had to press on it - seems very clumsy. I wonder why TomTom got rid of just about every way to customise the program? I makes no sense to me at all. |

Well surely this is a registry setting? I doubt they'd used fixed fonts.
I don't have my IPaq yet so can't check, but it'll be in the TomTom, Appearance section or summut. It should specify the font, and then the size. |

Did you guys ever find a solution to this?
I agree with proeliator2001 that in many instances it is far to large and when your driving along it's not easy to try and hold your finger or stylus over a name, let alone slide it down! |

No solution yet, TomTom are slow to acknowledge this as a problem. _________________ Lutz

They acknowledge it can't be done, but don't seem to think it's a problem.
This is what they told me:

Dear Wade,
Thank you for your question regarding TomTom. Unfortunately this application is not possible with TomTom software. We apologise for not being able to assist you at this time.
