Well, it seems as if the TT5 update is available in Europe but not in the US as yet. Is TomTom waiting on updated US maps or something - anyone know? |

I believe that link works if you're logged into the TomTom site in other than the "USA English" section. Us folks in the states still have some wait time I guess... |

I only have Palm installed and when I try to upgrade via my Palm product code it tells me it is not activated (True since you do not need to). However, It lets me upgrade using my maps of western Europe product code (which were activated). Does this mean that if I use that I will get Palm software on the CD?
This would save a lot of hassle trying to activate my palm 4.4 SW.
Of course trying to get this answer out of Tomtom is tricky as usual...
Many thanks for help
Andrew

You have to have activesync and hotsync intalled for it show both optios - if you only have a pocketpc then you only see the pppc version likewise with hotsync and the palm version.

Upgrade arrived 4.30 pm today. On to my T3, planned route, tested and put safety camera database on which works well. All is well with the world. The maps of europe come on 6 CDs. All countries are covered, though GB map is 199mb plus 8mb for postcodes. Very pleased with it so far, as at 5.30 pm. |

Has by chance anyone inquried to TomTom regarding the ability to plan routes on the PC, and then be able to download those routes to the Palm device? I think this would be a really great feature! |

Don't really need to do it on a PC, I just get out my Treo 650 and use the a-b advanced planning.
When I get in the car all I then do is 'navingate to' and then 'recent destination'
works fine for me.
I haven't tried this yet, but, if you are doing several appointments etc use advance planning as above for all destinations & then set up an itinary, or can you set up an itinery off line of the GPS receiver? |

I agree, but I don't see TomTom writing one; its a completely different codebase and the market for it is small This requirement led me to try Co-pilot; the feature set is good but the guidance on the pda is far inferior to TomTom. I wouldn't recommend it, if PC planning is a very high priority then you can buy my copy of Co-pilot ;)
Two thoughts on this subject: 1) Does anyone know of a tool that will convert Co-pilot or Garmin routes into TomTom format for uploading to TTN5? 2) Can you run TTN5 in a Palm OS emulation s/ware on a PC?
