|
|
I have had copilot U.K. registered area for a while now.
If I were to buy an European upgrade, as long as I had enough sd card space would it be possible to have installed and running at the same time both U.K and European maps, without having to download one then the other when each area is needed.
Thank You

Yes. You can even do cross Channel routing. _________________ Kam |

Thanks Kartracer,
How did you upgrade yours? I have tried ringing Alk up via the phone number which was on the registration number card supplied with copilot 5 but the line is dead!

Number shouldn't be dead, the number's been pretty busy though the last few days. What number do you have ? We have an 0207 and an 0845 number. The 0207 404 4222 is the one that most people use. |

Steve, not sure why you received that. Which telco were you using ? Perhaps it's a problem routing calls.
I called the support line 4 times yesterday, once I did get an engaged tone over lunch because we had a high level of calls stacked in the queue, but a quick redial and I got placed onto the end of the hold queue.
We have had some problems with our phone system, more so dialling out to mobiles, so if you are continuing to have a problem, please let me know and I will investigate this with our service company.
If you can let me know what dates and times of day you've tried and also which telephone company you are using (and if you're routing your calls through a low cost provider, which company you are using). |

You may/may not have noticed, but late Friday evening I've managed to get the new online support system in-place. This will be a huge improvement for contacting support, and if you log a call via the web or send us an email to ukcustservice@alk.com and include your contact details we'll call you back on your preferred number. |

Thanks Dave will do that!
Maybe you can help me first Dave? I am looking to upgrade my copilot to the European area's, but I can afford to wait a while before buying as I am not going on holiday yet. Is copilot 6 coming out soon and if so will there be a cheaper option to upgrade from 5-6 for existing users, if this is the case I might wait to buy copilot 6 both uk and Europe areas at the same time, if not I will just upgrade my existing copilot 5 to the European area's and forget version 6
Thanks

There is no release date for any new versions of CoPilot software, we're still working on v5 at present. |

Thats strange then Dave. As last time I was speaking with your office (S.Mistry - about 3 weeks ago) about still unresolved issues with CP5, I mentioned the forthcoming release of CP6 and the hope that this release would fix the many problems with CP5.
I was advised that the proposed release date for CP6 was September this year ?? True or not ??
Notwithstanding the above, I was not offered any solution to any of the issues that I have.

As I previously said elsewhere on the forum, I too was told that CP 6 would be out in September.
Please clarify the situation for us all, Dave and ALK. |

Assumptions were being made by some of my support staff that the release would be due out in September because it was approx 1 year ago to that date when CPL5 was released.
I can confirm that currnetly there is no release date for v6 at present. |
