|
|
Ok, managed to get TT5 installed and there is much I like.
However, why oh why can we not have custom sounds for POI's. Surely it couldn't have been hard for them to include support for??
Is there anyway to show guidance but turn the voice off but still have POI's warnings?
Is it just the roads near me or do others have problems with the way it gives out directions? For example, last night it told me to "Turn right then take the next left" The next left was 0.5 mile away! Then again to "Turn left then take the next right" but because of the way the road was, their was a right turn before the one I actually wanted! The map is correct, its just the voice is telling me too soon! Didn't have the same problem with TT3.
Overall, its better but lacks some simple touches which is a real shame. Close but no cigar.
Cheers[/list] |

You can use our custom POI warning sounds
You can use rayflan's "Silent" voice commands
The secondary announcement issue will be fixed in the next version. _________________ Lutz

where are the sound files - I can find them for various builds of the go maps but am unsure which ones to install.
Thanks

Are these files anywhere where we can listen to them on the PC to see what they are like ? _________________ Garmin Edge 800 (cycling)

I'll add a sample or two... but these will be OGG files and you'll need a OGG capable player. _________________ Lutz

Lutz,
Until you have chance to update the page, are you able to advise which TTGo file to use with TT5 on PPC? _________________ Regards, Andrew

Thanks. Glad it will be fixed but does make me wonder if they actually tested the software in the real world using real users. |

I have the best solution!
Return the software and get a refund until they sort it out.
Please see my post titled. 'Do NOT buy TomTom Navigator 5' for the reasons behind this |

Put the data.chk file in the \program files\navigator\ folder on the PPC.
Remember to backup the original one first. |
