I've just bought a Tom Tom Go 300 but when I connect the USB cable to it, it displays a picture of the TT Go with the cable in and an arrow pointing out of the back of the unit with a cross on it. My computer can't see it either. My PC runs on Windows 98 and I have tried to install the driver from the CD but nothing seems to happen, even when I locate the driver EXE file and double click it. I'm more concerned, however by the fact that the Tom Tom doesn't seem to want to output any information anyway. Any suggestions? |

Can your PC see other USB devices?
Does anything at all happen when you plug it in? |

I'm running Windows 98 and somethimes my computer has problems detecting my TTG300 (seems to happen more since installing V5.10). I have to restart my computer, then connect TTG and turn it on. Then click on my computer and it shows up as a removeable disc or drive E. Just click on that and you get to the TTG.
The cable with the red cross just means don't remove the cable from the TTG whilst that is on the screen |

I've emailed TomTom about the USB connection being much more "flakey" since V5.1.
Their reply:
Quote: | We are not currently aware of any issues regarding USB connections with version 5.10, but we have passed your comments on to our Technical Department who will investigate the issue fully. |
Why not drop them a line and see if you get exactly the same "no-one else has complained" response? |

:D Thank you all for your help. I downloaded the driver as suggested by HotPants and it works fine now. I have since discovered that the picture of an arrow and a cross is just to warn stupid people like me not to pull the cable out. Pity it didn't say that in the instruction book.
This is the first time I've used this forum and you guys have been great. Thanks for your help! |

I've just emailed TT outlining my problem?
Has anyone else had problems since installing v51.0? |
