Hey Flashyphotos, what kind of cradle is that?
I've been looking for a quality active cradle that will support the hx4700 in landscape, and haven't found one. |

I have a 3850 iPaq with a Navman jacket, I know that TT3 needed a serial driver from Navman to work, does anyone know if TT5 will work with this setup - does it need any 'tweaks'?
Thanks

Hi
The Cradle is just the stock one supplied with the 6500xl by Lidl as part of the kit,
Have pried it portrait and landscape works fine in both modes even with the built in flat panel antenna still works no problem tipped landscape

I ask as I modified mine so that when I touched the screen whilst navigating, I had the options for 2D, Night colours + others I prefer on the first screen, from the information I have, it seems you cannot change the layout of each of the preference screen on TT5.
If I dont have TT Traffic, I`d rather replace it with an icon for something I do use.
Hope that make a bit of sense !!

Makes sense to us but not to Tomtom, I read on a list of what was in TTN3 but is not in TTN5 that you CAN't customise the menu screens, another poster said it needs you to tap through 3 screens to get to the exit button. Shame on you Tomtom for taking out a VERY useful feature of menu editing (as well as road speed settings). _________________ If riding in a plane is flying then riding in a boat is swimming. The Jornada 928 was ARM based; almost all the other Jornadas were non-ARM, though I think a couple of the later 56x models ran Pocket PC 2002, which would make them ARM (support for non-ARM processors was dropped for Pocket PC 2002 and onwards).
Like Alix, I don't believe there's any support for non-ARM devices in Navigator 5. There's almost no software support for non-ARM devices now, as Pocket PC 2000 is very old. Since then, there's been Pocket PC 2002, 2003, 2003 Second Edition and lately Windows Mobile 5 (though it will be a while before we have devices running WM5).
A lot of developers are considering dropping support for Pocket PC 2002 now, as there are quite a few differences between that and later versions of Pocket PC (there's an underlying change from Windows CE 3 to Windows CE 4.2).
Windows Mobile 5 changes things again; there's no support at all for programs that use Embedded Visual Basic on WM5, so this means programs written using eVB will have to be rewritten if they're to work on WM5.
Typically developers keep support for older devices and operating systems for a while, but there comes a point at which keeping such support is uneconomic, especially if it stops them being able to support the latest devices in the best possible way.
