Just found the cause a major headache for me. I wont bore you all with the details but the problem began three days ago when I tried to set a destination in France and the route calculated right up to 100% then completely locked up the iCN510 with an Application Error message across the top of the screen. Only a hard re-boot with the top button got it going but you had to be quick to cancel the route calculation to avoid it happening again. Suspected data corruption on the cards French mapping data as the UK destinations worked fine, so re-formatted and re-loaded ..... but no go! Tried updating and reloaded the STv3 software via SmartST onto the iCN510 .... but still no go!
I finally found the cause to be due to a bug in the Stv3 software when you select warnings for BOTH 'Ferry Crossings' and 'Toll Roads' together. If you select either one seperately no problem, but both together and the STv3 will crash immediately after it 100% calculates ther route and tries to provide both warnings at the same time. Solution for now is to use only one warning mode .... I choose the Toll Road warning.
Hope this helps someone else until Navman get the software sorted out ! |

oh and something else that I forgot to mention ............
I tried to navigate to a French destination via the UK channel tunnel terminal (the terminal is already in the iCN510 POI files) but it sent me to the UK Chunnel terminal then moved me onto Dover to catch a ferry .......... duhhhh !
Suppose it is due to the fact that even though the mapping knows there is a Chunnel terminal it has no idea at all that there is a rail link between the UK and France as there is no rail network mapping on the iCN510.
Weird but true. Anyone else got any fun stories we can learn from. |

Indeed the error message is the same as the thread you provided ........
Application Error
CODE\NAVIGATOR\GUI\UNSTABLE\APPS\GUIEX.C
Line:554 Test: GET_WINDOWS (RES) = = NULL
Cannot Create 936 Instance Already Exists.
I am new this last few weeks to the forum and had not had the chance to read a lot of the past threads. The problem is without doubt the combination of toll road AND ferries warnings within the same routing, whilst at the same time you have selected to be warned about both.
I hope that maybe Navman monitor these threads to be able to include a bugfix within the next software release.
Excellent site this ! |
