|
|
OK, Used a friends PDA with TTN 5 (pirated copy) on yesterday. Here's a couple of problems I encountered.
Had a good fix on seven or eight satalites, but say after going under a bridge and losing them momentarily TTN 5 would keep losing its way, recalulate and ask you to go in the complete opposite direction, seconds later, same again recalculate etc. This would go on for minutes, luckily I new where I was because certainly TTN certainly did not. Eventually it picked up on the right track again and took me where I had planned. If I had been using TTN 5 for real, I would have been totally .I wondered if this was because of the GPS receiver which is a Haicom wired version with a baud rate of 4800. It was as if the GPS receiver was not feeding the signal fast enought for TTN to get a fix.
The excellent speed (sorry saŁety) camera database was installed and could seen on the screen, however what was a major concern was there was no warning unless a route was planned. This meant that if you used TTN 5 with no route planned, which I do many times, you do not get a warning of potential cameras. Now, it was set to warn of POI on route, and I need to investigate if turning this off will warn you if you do not have a route planned. This I will examine when he lends me his PDA again.
A bit of a ramble, but in conclusion apart from the 2 major upsets above, I really liked TTN 5.

First post here - been lurking for a while.
But is this for real - one of the major selling features for me was the full 7 digit postcode facility!!!!! |

remember that people are using a pirated copy as no genuine final product is available yet. Therefore you can expect features to be missing or for there to be rough edges. I wish people would stop picking holes in TT5 until they have at least see nthe version TT ship and not that distributed by the pirates. |

The full retail version does have 7 digit post code.....
I have been informed that a release made by some very naughty peeps on the internet has omited to include one file that is needed for the 7 digit post code lookup to work... but I have also been informed that this file and instructions as to where it should go is available.
I pass this info on just as a view of whats happening in the big wide world and in no way support or condone geting stuff from non official sources. |

no information on illegal copies of TT5 were being given, just information on how to correct the missing postcodes error!
