Hi,
I am new on these forums and am wondering if anybody could help me.
I purchased TomTom navigator 3 for my Ipaq H1930 and it all worked perfectly OK until I had to hard-reset my Ipaq because things were running too slow.
I have now been trying to re-install TomTom to no avail. After insertion of the installation disk and having clicked through the agreement and asked for it be installed it goes through the preparing setup process after which it is stuck on the screen showing the files flapping from one folder to the other one. I left it like that for about an hour without success. The programme is still running and responding in the task manager.
Does anybody have a clue what is going on, and more importantly how I resolve this problem.
Many thanks in advance for your kind assistance.

Hi,
This may be down to your USB connection. Try a different port and if you are connecting to a hub - don't.

Hello Steve,
Many thanks for your prompt reply :D
Reconneced it to another USB port (got 5 on my laptop - not using a hub) but it is still doing the same. The disc doesn't even spin and no hard disk activity appears to be happening.
Any further suggestions are very much welcomed.

Just to add to the above (don't seem to be able to edit my posts):
My ActiveSync is working, so the connection from the laptop to the Ipaq seems to be in order.

Hi,
I (and many others) have experienced this in the past. Starting again usually clears the problem.
I would recommend using a card reader to install your maps as I seem to remember it was at that stage that the problem occured.
You could try copying the TTN .CAB files direct to your PPC and executing them there.
I have sent you a PM with my e-mail address - mail me if you want any further help.

Just a quick update:
Problem has been resolved. Tried Steve's suggestion and after copying and installing one .cab file onto my Ipaq the installation process now succeeded.
Thanks Steve :D
