Does anydody know how you route across borders (different maps) in TTN5. Can you just load the maps you want, and it stitches them together, or is there a map with the major roads of europe on which you use _________________ Mio P550 Mio 3 TTN 6 2GB SD Card, Ipaq 5450: Integral 1Gb SD card, TTN 6, POICapture, PPC 2003 |

Map changes are purely manually. You can use the MRE map or your country's "Plus" map but you have to manually switch to a more detailed map if you are in the other country. _________________ Lutz

The TomTom website says the Upgrade includes all the detailed maps for Western Europe (as far as Poland and Czech Republic) on CD plus each detailed map includes major roads from all the other maps - so you can drive from London to Berlin for example, on your GB map, and then switch to the German map when you need the detailed streets. |

I don't believe there is a Major Roads of Europe map for Navigator 5.
I don't believe anyone at Pocket GPS World has got the finalised upgrade kit yet, hence we're a bit vague over some issues. I've used Navigator 5 and can answer questions on it, but I don't know the precise contents and layout of the upgrade CDs.

The TomTom website seems very clear on the maps the upgrade includes -
"We use the latest maps from TeleAtlas, world-leader in digital mapping.
Due to TomTom's unique compressing process and quality of software in combination with the map data, TomTom is now able to deliver all regions in combination with all the Major Roads of Europe. This means that you have street level data of the region you purchased plus, seamlessly attached, all the roads to navigate you to every town in Europe."
That says that you can navigate outside the area of the map using the "seamlessly attached" Major Roads of Europe. |
