sorry, and click on Installation poster (PDA) on the left hand side.
There should be an edit function on these Forum entries. |

Hm, after three days TomTom still hasn't responded to my pre-sales questions. This is a bad sign.
No idea if 5 is out for USA, and whether they have Canada (BC)? Also need to know whether the images are grainy on a (high-rez) Ipaq 4700? Whether it in fact runs on the 4700 at all? And whether they have a topo app?
Are they chronically non-responsive? |

In the TT upgrade pages it says that no FS PDA's are supported. I've got TT3 on my PL600 - why won't TT% work on it? Anybody got any ideas?

Quote: | I've read through all the bunff on TT5, am I right in thinking that we can't download an update because the whole program comes on an SD card. See link below, |
Hoppy - Yes I noticed that. The poster definately shows installation from a TomTom SD card. _________________ TomTom Go 520, HTC Wildfire with CoPilot Live Premium UK & CoPilot Live Standard USA |

Hey I really like the new "navigate to POI" function that actually shows whether the petrol station you choose is en-route or a detour of 20 miles when you are running on fumes!
Nice one :D _________________ TomTom Go 520, HTC Wildfire with CoPilot Live Premium UK & CoPilot Live Standard USA |

Pocket GPS World's March 2005 review says:
Quote: | VGA mode is supported natively in the application so those of you with a 4700 or any other PDA running Windows Mobile 2003 SE with VGA will see this. |

About the USA version of Navigator 5: To TomTom support:
Q. I have noticed there are Navigator 5 upgrades available for the European community. Has the upgrade to the USA version been set back?
A. The upgrade to Navigator 5 was pushed back to June 18th, 2005.
Q. What will the upgrade policy be for those upgrading from Navigator 4 to Navigator 5?
A. The window for upgrading for free has been extended to 90 days. If you are registered on our website, you will receive an e-mail notifying you of the upgrade. If you have purchased Navigator 2004 you will receive Navigator 5 for free. If you were one of the many who receive a free upgrade to Navigator 2004, the cost of the upgrade will be $49.00 plus shipping and handling.
Q. Will the upgrade be a download and use the old Maps or a new set of CDs?
A. With the upgrade, you will receive a new set of software CDs with updates maps and application.
The only good thing about buying Navigator 4 is the fact it is a free upgrade. The Navigator 4 application must have been a test bed for Nav 5 because it is even more limited than this newer version. I have never used Ver 3 but from what I have read it is to bad you can't use the new maps with it. Since my first experience was with Nav 4, Nav 5 is going to be a far cry better than what I had as far as functionality. |

Keep us informed - I've known TotalPDA to have items "in stock" before, so have my doubts. Fair play if they do though. |

How long is the upgrade offer likely to last do you think? I'm interested in buying it but 2 things make me hesitate:
1. An imminent visit (work related) to China (2 weeks tomorrow) means I won't be around to receive delivery if it does not arrive before I go.
2. (And probably more importantly) I'd like to give the upgrade time to "bed-in" before shelling out & overwriting software that presently works reasonably OK (albeit with some dodgy mapping!).
