Posted: Thu Jun 02, 2005 4:37 pm Post subject: TT4, Routes when I don't want it to |
|
|
Hi folks,
I'm trying to understand a feature...
Sometimes I don't want TT4 to calculate or plan a route, I'm just interested in seeing the map and where I am. Is this possible?
I find that if I leave TT4 without a route it suddenly calculates a route to one of the two favourites I have listed (I think) despite nothign being entered.
Any way I can stop this behaviour?
Any help much appreciated. |

Use these keytaps from the main screen to achieve what you want to do
1) 2-6-2 (browse map)
2) 2-6-3 (clear route) _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the reply
2 takes me to find alternative
6 is minimise traffic delays, which is greyed out
But 6-2 does it (from the 3D map screen).
What I would like to achieve though is to use the 3D map while driving (which it follows) but just not have a route.

This seems to be 5-6-6-5 from the 3D map screen.
I always consider this to be the main screen Not quite sure if it is called that or not... |

Just to add, even when I seem to have a route cleared i.e. when first starting Tom Tom 4, it will after a short time suddenly calculate a route. I don't know why this is, but I'll try clearing it and see what happens... |

Is your storage card by any chance set to "Write lock"? That will not work - the program needs to be able to write to the card during operation. _________________ Lutz

Hmmm, how do I change it? I'm not sure if it's set to write lock or not... |

take it out and look at it - should be a little switch/slider on the side. _________________ Lutz

I can definitely copy data to it using Activesync, does that mean it's write locked? |

no, that would mean it is write enabled. Hmm. I have no more ideas why your route keeps popping up even after you cleared it. _________________ Lutz

It's not actually a route I've ever used either.
It seems to route to one of the two favourites that are stored, but I can't add my own favourites either. |
