|
|
Anyone had these problems?
I have an external aerial for a 510, and strong signal (typical lock-on in 10-20 seconds), and commonly 5/6 satellite strength.
If i then set a destination from my favourites and GO - typically on more distant destinations (1 hour plus?) the 510 loses GPS lock when it hits ~85% of the route planning.
It then tries to do a back on track, and bogs down more. It commonly takes 1-2 minutes to reaquire GPS.
Navman have no idea on what is going wrong! |

Lookingat that you say: All 3 of the ones i had would not "lock on" which included reloading and cold starts can you please tell us what we did (or are doing) wrong as you seem to think its our fault...
Lock on is not a problem with my unit. I have no signal strength issues; with an external aerial i generaly have between 6-8 green sat's within 20 seconds of poweron. however it does appear that it loses gps fix during the route selection phase of the program. - I do have a high speed SD card- wonder if it just eating all the cpu time? |

Looking further at this subject, it appears to me that it is related to the SD card in use. It is a 512 40x Viking Media card.
When i remove this and use my uk only original card, i see no problems. |

My unit suffers from this issue also. It seems as though using the 3D map view whil route calculation is taking place causes the staellites to be lost. It does not happen when I switch to the 2D direction view whil rerouting takes place. My guess is that the CPU time goes to 100% while recalculating in the 3D view. Any suggestions? |
