i wonder what this means...
Quote: | Due to TomTom's unique compressing process and quality of software in combination with the map data, TomTom is now able to deliver all regions in combination with all the Major Roads of Europe. This means that you have street level data of the region you purchased plus, seamlessly attached, all the roads to navigate you to every town in Europe. |
i wonder how seamless it would be... would it automatically load detailed maps as you cross borders? _________________ tomtom 940 live/tt active dock holder/tt rds-tmc traffic receiver usb |

I had a few problems with the process.
Chose my upgrade and proceeded to checkout from where it asked me to log in to my account or to create a new account. Logging in failed and just kept repeating the same login screen. Creating a new account was OK except that at the end of the process it just returned me to the login screen without having given me a username or password. Requested password by e-mail but it hasn't turned up yet.
However I started all over again, and logged in to my account on the home screen before going to the upgrade page, and this time it went through no problem, without asking me to log in again. Like others, though, I' haven't received the confirmation e-mail.

I've sent an e-mail asking about the confirmation e-mail, but I would expect it's just because they are taking quite a beating right now. There are probably thousands of people placing their orders... _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

I've just upgraded 2 sets of ttn3 15 minutes apart and 297 order numbers different - couldn't find a way to order both with one lot of shipping.
very painless compared to previous upgrade days.

I would take this to mean we'll have our home country (i.e. UK) AND Major Roads on the same map file.
Thats a good start and will help when crossing borders, though I'd prefer MRE + non home country as I know how to get onto the major roads near my home but not how to coem off them in europe and find a specific house. _________________ iPAQ 2110

Well, that was really worth the wait!
I'm happily clicking on 'continue' only to find that it's not compatible with Toshiba devices and that I'll have to wait until 'Autumn 2005' until it is!
FFS!
Still - could be worse - I could be one of the poor suckers that have a device that TTN5 is never going to support.
Guess I'll just have to keep waiting.
Anyone know if I can at least upgrade my TTN3 maps in the meantime? _________________ Howard

No, it just means that each map has it's home country in full detail and other countries as 'major roads', you would still have to switch maps at some point but at least you can route across borders easily now. |

I see no option to 'list orders' does this mean mine didn't go through? _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6
