Updated today to V5.1 on my TTGo (classic).........no problems updating, seems to be working fine, and the routing speed? AMAZING!
Did a quick test of a well used route by myself from Essex to Northampton on V5 it took 63 seconds to work out the shortest route, after updating to V5.1 the same calculation took only 22 seconds! Somewhat better than the 20-30% improvement implied by the TT website.
TomTomGo.....512mb Kingston card.....GB maps....Major Roads of Europe maps....France maps....Benelux maps.....Safety Camera database.
Highly recommended update so far.
Best regards David |

I too have the new maps and have upgraded to v5.1 with no problems at all, unit is much quicker as route calculation and seems to be much quicker at recalulating when you wander off the route.

Yes although it is a tight fit and you may need to uninstall some unused voices first.
Much easier if you get a 256Mb Card, they're less than £20. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi gang,
I've just returned from a month long business trip to South Africa where I kept an eye on this forum - so was aware of the 5.1 upgrade.
I have classic GO with original 128Mb SD card - absolutely no problems at all. I have only Jane English voice plus the gatso, specs and mobile camera databases loaded.
I do have a 1GB SD waiting but thats currently sitting in my XDA2s. Until I run into problems I'm sticking to the 128Mb card as originally supplied. _________________ GO 700 App 6.520 WE Map v568.0

ive deleted all my voices apart from Jane, but i cant get rid of Tim either! how do i delete the voices? via USB?
So what exactly is new on 5.1? for TTG classic - i have v5.0 now which seems fine - is it safe to go up to 5.1? |

Hi Guys,
I just tried updating a friends TTG Classic with app version 5.1 and it went smoothly except for 1 vital flaw, i lost *all* street names.
I suspect it has something to do with it having version v300 of Great Britain Maps.
There was plenty of space on the SD card so i kinda ruled out that being the cause.
Has anyone else had the problme of street names disappearing after having updated to 5.1 on the TTG Classic?. As i said before, everything is works perfectly apart from this 1 major problem.
Thanks.

You can turn the names on and off in Prefs and/or Options in "Route". Maybe your 5.1 has changed the default? |

@McRod
Mmmm ... interesting! People have reported the opposite problem of not being able to turn them off here . Looks like there might be a bug about
Presumably it's turned on in 'Name preferences' in the Preferences menu? |
