|
|
Hi,
I have just upgraded to a HP 6340, I will be changing over my tomtom 3 software shortly - however is the wired GPS going to work if I get the car kit sorted out?
If not, what is the best bluetooth GPS to get, also what are the cheap ones like? Seen the X50 for about 80 quid.
Thanks in advance guys

No, wired GPS is not an option (apart from the exotic serial > IR adapter like for the 1910) .
If you buy a cheap GPS receiver you will get cheap performance. Your call. _________________ Lutz

The Carcomm website (www.carcomm.nl) lists the below product for the 6340:
Quote: | // CMPC-10 Mobile PDA Cradle Set for HP iPAQ h6315 / h6340
Cradle for the HP iPAQ with original bottom connector and steady fitting for the HP iPAQ h6315 / h6340.
Specially designed for mobile use.
The Charging pcb is build-in the cradle. The cradle has an cigarette plug to connect the cradle to the 12V.
Complete set with PDA USB Universal Host adaptor cable and ENAV-57 GPS receiver. The PDA USB Universal Host adaptor cable sets up the connection between the USB connection and the ENAV-57 GPS Receiver.

that might work, but you will need a special driver for this USB > Serial converter cable. Can't you purchase it directly in the Netherlands? _________________ Lutz

I've just ordered the carcomm mount from totalpda, they knocked it down to £80 + VAT as I have had a few problems getting through to them (I think due to number of callers asking about TT5).
I am expecting delivery tomorrow so as soon as I get it all set up and tested I will put a review/feedback on the forum.
Must say I am hopeful that everything will go smoothly with it as I want to hardwire it in at the weekend. |
