TomTom Nav 3 - Can't Find Maps

I had TomTom navigator 3 working fine on my Pocket PC, until I let the battery run down. I then had to install the software onto my Pocket PC again. However, when I tryed to run the software it said it couldn't find a map, although it is sitting there on my CF.

I decided to do a hard reset on my Pocket PC and clear any trace of the TomTom install files on my desktop PC. I then did a fresh install of the TomTom navigator and the GB map but I'm still having the same problem.

Does anyone have any ideas as this is drivinf me nuts!!!

which version of TomTom did you install after the hard reset?

It was version 3 which is exactly the same version as the previous install.

Oh right... sorry see what you mean.

I've got just plain 3.00 on there but have also tryed 3.03 to no avail.

Try to upgrade to 3.07. Let me know if that helped. You may also want to delete the CFG file, just in case. This will reset all settings.

Ok, just tryed the 3.07 update and I can now run the Navigator. However, I can't run the wizard to setup the connection with my bluetooth GPS receiver! When I run the wizard I get the same error about not being able to find the maps.

Is there an update perhaps to the wizard too?

Is there a simple way to manually connect to the tomtom bluetooth GPS device?

I found out how to manually set the GPS device so I've got it all working fine now. I am still a bit miffed as to why I've had to jump though hoops to get this working when originally I had no problems at all.

Is the problem I have faced a common thing?

Using the Wizard, and using TomTom GPS 3.03 are the most common issues. The way you have done it - to manually set the receiver - is still the best option.
