Thought I'd try and install it on my dated Ipaq 3630 as well, with my NavMan jacket (so I can use it at the same time as tomtom - which is on my other Pocket PC - which Speed Sentry works on).

Can't get any data on the screen at all, or any output to the logs?

Any one successfully got the product working on an Ipaq 3630 with NavMan jacket?

Thanks

Simon

Have you installed the Navman GPS Jacket Serial Driver?

Which driver is that?

On my 3630, there is SmartST Pro + TomTom3 still - which both work okay.

Thanks

Ah, so long as SmartST is still installed you don't need the driver, sorry.

SimonB, can you email me so we can work through this?

I havent had any reports of the Navman sleeve being used by anyone so it may not have been reported as a problem. I did have one user have similar issues with an Emtac GPS iPaq sleeve. I wonder if the are the same hardware?

Anyway, could you let me know what settings you use for any other GPS applications you run on your 3630?

Regards
Trevor

SimonB, what model Navman sleeve do you have? I see on the Navman site that the GPS 3000/3100/3300/3450 all use a baud rate of 57,6000.

Can you email me and I will send you a recompile of GPS Speed Sentry with this baud rate.

Regards
Trevor

Anyone managed to get GPS sentry working with a Navan 3400 jacket?

The gps runs on com4 according to tomtom GPS but even with TTN off i cant seem to get GPS sentry to work.

Im guessing its not compatible? or am i missing something?

Would be nice if GPS connection progress was detailed, something like destinator, where you can see how many sats its picked up and the strength of each one.

I cant seem to get this to work on my Acer n35

Naza, can you send me an email? SimonB also had some issues with his Navman sleeve and we resolved it by using a baud rate of 57600. Since you cant select the baud rate in the application I had to recompile a separate version for him. It worked fine after that.

I will be adding a baud rate selection option into the application this weekend so this doesnt happen again.

Regards
Trevor

What about a 0-60 or 0-100 timer? It would need 0.1 second divisions along the bottom in order to determine the time taqken to achieve the chosen time.

It could even start the clock automatically when the car starts to move.

Is this possible?

I work with a local Duke Of Edinghurgh Award group and part of the work involves expeditions where we use OS maps. As a supervisor I travel from check point to check point.
For me a great facility to be added to the program would be the option to display the current location as an OS grid ref instead of as the Long / Lat ref.

To find locations at the moment I use OS GPS Convert which was writen by Barry Davies. Details can be found at http://www.freenetpages.co.uk/hp/barrydavies/OSGBWGS.htm (great program - much used)

Here's the laugh, I was driving my 1954 Riley whose speedo's needle wavers over a 10mph range when at a constant speed

Here's another laugh - classic car answers on a GPS site. Is your Riley an RME or RMF? Good car either way.

Remove speedo drive cable from back of speedo, you should then be able to pull the inner cable out. Squirt 3 in 1 oil down the outer, give the inner a good clean up and grease, reassemble and you should have a dead steady needle..

Happy motoring.

I am very keen to try this system, I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I know about motor cars and can use computers but don't understand much of the technical terminology of computer speek.

Which downloads do I need for my iPAQ 3970 ?

windows installer:
- arm version, setup application
- mips version, setup application
cab file:
- arm version, cab file only
- mips version, cab file only

For the IPAQ 3970...

You will need the ARM Version of the software.

The Windows Installer you would run on your PC to install the product on the Ipaq (via ActivSync).
or
The Cab version, you can just copy to the PocketPC and it will install on itself.

What GPS are you using with the 3970? If its the NavMan sleeve, you may need a special version of the product which runs at 57,600bps for the sleeve.

Hope the above is of some help to you.
