V5 screen brightness

There is a perception that the max screen brightness with v5 is less than with v4 making it more difficult to see the screen in strong light. It certainly seems like this to me - although I haven't put the old v4 card back in for a direct comparison.

If this is the case, does anyone have a fix for it. The hardware is obviously capable of greater brightness - so maybe some clever soul (or even TT themselves?) will be able to devise a software patch to fix it.
