My HP2210 battery went flat, thus I could not access my TomTom Navigator. So I performed a restore. After restoring I was prompted to reset before the restore was activated. The 2210 then locked up, will not even switch off.

Can anyone please help?

Hi there,

You have not provided details but my guess is that you have attempted to restore using Ipaq Backup or an early version of Sprite Backup. Ipaq Backup is actually an old version of Sprite.

The stall in the restore process is caused by a file in TomTom called TTBTDEV.dll which is the bluetooth driver. You can carry out a succesfull restore (of sorts) by hard resetting and then omitting this file from the options in a new restore process - however, blutooth for TomTom will then not function. This is satisfactory only if you intend use a wired or CF GPS receiver with TT.

If you need your TomTom to function on BT, then you will need to rebuild it from scratch I'm afraid.

To prevent a reoccurrence of this situation, Invest in the new version of Sprite - it deals with the TTBTDEV.ddll problem and is a genuine bargain
