|
|
Just bought full hp2210 kit with CD etc that has been sat in a draw for almost a year doing nothing!
Installed and activated fine and Ipaq is running latest Rom image and TT3 is 3.07 with 3.07 GPS
What I have found is that the Time to Fix ( initial startup ) seems to be around 4mins or so, which seems long compared to my aging Hiacom 203E attached to Ipaq5450 which is much quicker ( usually within 1 minute )
Could this simply be down to the GPS reciever being in a draw for so long the battery discharged and needing time to charge and sort itself out so it keeps position from day to day. At present only being used for about 10 minutes at start of day and 10 at end.
Much appreciated.
Regards,
Andy |

leave it powered for a few hours then see if it holds its charge - it should do but batteries can certainly die through lack of use. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

Would hard wiring the power to a permanent +ve feed mean the GPS mouse would stay active, considering it is all with the TomTom cradle etc, or is the Mouse only activated once the PDA is inserted?
Is it possible to get replacement TomTom GPS mice or adapter to convert other 'mice' to the TomTom plug?
Thanks,
Andy |

Not sure what drain this would have on the battery....
A new wired mouse is usually supplied with an adapter/charger cable. The mouse itself will actually have an RJ11 or PS2 connector which connects to the adaptor cable. You can sell the old adaptor on e-bay for about £15. |

I leave my GPS mouse plugged into the car power permanently. Never had any problems, and it means that as soon as I put my ipaq into the cradle I get a fix straight away. |
