|
|
My CoPilot software and GPS sleeve arrived in the mail yesterday. I went out and bought a 1 GB CF card and sat down after I put my Kid to bed to get everything set up.
Everything went great except my iPaq can not see the CF card in the copilot GPS sleeve. My ipaq 3835 does have an SD slot I use for music so I was hoping to use the CF slot in the GPS sleeve for the map data. The CF card does work in a card reader hooked up to my PC.
Any ideas? |

You need the driver which you can get here. Remove the sleeve, soft reset and copy the .cab file over to your iPAQ. Navigate to the file using File Explorer and tap it to install. Do another soft reset and then slide the sleeve on. This should sort it for you. _________________ Tim |

I gave it a try with much excitement. Didn't work. No errors. The iPaq stated it was installing the arm from ALI. Once the install completed the original arm file disappeared. I tried it twice.
ANy other ideas? |

Do you get any error messages when sliding the sleeve onto the iPAQ? The .arm file does disappear when it's installed. In your list of installed programmes, does the driver appear? _________________ Tim |

In the installed programs I see NavMan GPS (ALK(COM) 3.1.1). When I slide the sleeve on I See Expansion pak installation a progress bar zoom all the way across "really fast" and no errors. When I look in settings / memory, all I see in the storage card tab is iPAQ File storage 7MB
Thank you so much for helping me with this by the way. |

Have you put the CF card in the slot the right way round? I know it sounds silly but it can be inserted back to front. Also, if you have the sleeve on and the CF card inserted, have you tried connecting the iPAQ to your PC using Activesync?
Try this, then click on "Explore" in Activesync and see if you can locate the CF card this way. _________________ Tim |

I checked to ensure the card was in right. If I try inserting the card any other way it doesn't feel right, don't want to force. When I explore the root of the device, I see 8 folders "Databases, Copilot, IPaq File Storage, My Documents, Pocket Speech, Program Files, Temp, Windows and 2 mdmlog files" If I explore around I do not see anything that has the files / folders I see on the CF card when I browse it on my PC using the card reader. Is there some special formatting I have to do to the CF card to get it to work on the pocketpc? |
