I had a Ipaq with Tom Tom on it the Ipaq got drooped and so it was sent for a repair it turned out that to have it repaired was not worth it so I brought a new Pocket PC.
When I tried to put Tom Tom on the new system it asked me for a acutivation code. I e-mail Tom Tom with the Product Number and Device Number that it showed for the Code. Quote: | I had Tom Tom on another Pocket PC that Broke down I have installed it on another but it is asking for an Activation Code
Device Code is AAHHY DK44A
Product Code is Z6VWY PUWNL 7G6WS
Could I please have a new Code
Thanks | I recived a e-mail from Tom Tom Quote: | The TomTom license agreement clearly states that „This TomTom License Agreement ("License") permits you to use the TomTom computer program and the digital (map) data included in the accompanying package acquired with this License on any single computer, provided the Software is installed on only one computer at any time and provided the Software is combined only with one (1) navigation system. This License is non-exclusive and non-transferable.” If your Pocket PC should be repaired or replaced then we must ask you to fax us on this number + 31 (0)20 – 8501097 with the following information:
1. Your proof of repair or proof of purchase of the new Pocket PC
2. Your Product Code from the inside plastic cover of the navigator CD
3. When you install the navigator software and attempt to use the software for the first time on the new or repaired Pocket PC you will receive a device code and we need this number as well
4. An email address to send the new activation code back to you
5. First name followed by surname | .
It looks like that if your system goes down and you have to reinstall if you do not have the paper work you are up the creek with out a paddle .
It has so far took me two weeks to get a reply from them jow sent of e- mail and fax with detail so I wait but will not hold my breath.
Dont try phoning them as I was ringing out for 20 minutes.
I fell very let down by Tom Tom and very mad that I cant after paying all this money not able to put on to another system.

The TomTom system allows a second install to a different device after 7 days has passed. Had you already used up this option? if you haven then it's not really Tomtom's fault is it, if you had not already installed to another device then you would have been able to use that reserve install for this eventuality.
If you have already used up this option then you can either wait 6 months before you can install to a 3rd device or provide documentary evidence to TomTom that your PocketPC was replaced following a hardware issue and they will then re-issue you with a new key. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Why should you have to wait six months when you have paid all that money.
That is not the way to treat people who buy the product bad pratice. _________________ JohnLittleton |

So what happened to the second install then?
Also, TomTom's v5 PocketPC upgrade program will commence shortly. if you purchase the upgrade you'll get a new key and will be able to install.
With new map data, a whole new application interface and Post Codes' it is well worth upgrading to. _________________ Darren Griffin

www.ttcode.com shows that you have previously installed to two seperate devices:
AB3AE 6TUDE and AB8SJ 9KVGJ.
I'm afraid the problem here is of your making. TomTom allow the second install to another device specifically to cover the possibility of a unit being replaced following repair etc. If you choose to use this to install to another device to get two running installs then it's down to you.
What do you expect them to do, if you can't provide proof that the unit was replaced then do you honestly expect them to just issue you a new code? if you can provide proof then they will issue a new code and others here have done just that. _________________ Darren Griffin |
